Billions of dollars of investments they\u2019ve made in infrastructure, workforce development, and supply chains for wind energy are at risk, they contend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis administration is devastating one of our nation\u2019s fastest-growing sources of clean, reliable, and affordable energy,\u201d New York Attorney General Letitia James said in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ag.ny.gov\/press-release\/2025\/attorney-general-james-leads-challenge-trump-administrations-attempt-block-wind\">press release.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On his first day, Trump also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2025\/1\/20\/24347870\/trump-executive-order-fossil-fuels-environment\">declared a so-called \u201cnational energy emergency<\/a>\u201d in an<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/declaring-a-national-energy-emergency\/\">\u00a0executive order<\/a>\u00a0to promote the development of fossil fuel projects. \u201cThese and numerous other executive actions similarly encouraged domestic energy development\u2014that is, all but wind and other renewable energy,\u201d the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ag.ny.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/court-filings\/state-of-new-york-et-al-v-donald-trump-united-states-department-of-the-interior-complaint-2025.pdf\">complaint<\/a>\u00a0says.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration, meanwhile, is framing the lawsuit as a partisan attack. \u201cInstead of working with President Trump to unleash American energy and lower prices for American families, Democrat Attorneys General are using lawfare to stop the President\u2019s popular energy agenda,\u201d White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers said in an email to\u00a0<em>The Verge<\/em>. \u201cAmericans in
